Sometimes you luckbox....

Overall Challenge
Played a relatively quick session tonight of 18 games or thereabouts.  Started off running really hot and then got coolered a few times for min-cashes.  Standard.... and all good.  Last tourney I had up was 10 handed and I had chip lead.  Shove SB over BB (he had about 40% my stack), 66>JJ obviously...  Next hand I shove AJo from button and SB (same guy from hand before) snap calls with AA.  I'm left with <1BB.

TLDR...

I ship the tourney.

Been dabbling in some HUSNGs lately trying to get my brother to play more frequently so that I'll have someone to talk strat with.  They're pretty fun as a change of pace, though I much prefer HUNL cash games which I'm just not rolled for (obviously).  If nothing else they're great practice for when I get HU in these SNGs.
45s

Been super busy with work, so hoping I can get another solid session in tomorrow and Wednesday as Thursday will be very unlikely.

And as a nightcap... BR is up to $29.78.

Grind on the mind!!

Stick to the 45s...

$0.25 45s
I think that today confirmed that I need to be sticking to the 45s.  I don't think that the 360s are very favorable given their payout structure.  I believe I said the same thing in one of my last posts but I'm just reiterating... hopefully I'll remember the next time I start a session :)

I had a pretty solid session today, played for about 4 hours and got 77 games in.  2 990 Hypers, 20 360s and 55 45s, or something like that.  I ran pretty well in the 45s as i have been doing, finally took one down and cashed in a total of 8 or 9 of them I believe (none of those being min cashes, a lot of 4-5ths and a 1st and 2nd mixed in).  Unfortunately I was only able to cash for $0.40 in 2 of the 20 360s played, which meant that I dropped about 12 BI's there.

I have to work quite a bit tomorrow but I'm still going to attempt to get another solid session in.  My goals for my next session are going to be to stick to around 25 tables (I was rocking 30-35 tables in today's session).  I want to build that number up to 30-40 or so at some point but think that for now I need to tone it back a bit and get into a rhythm.  I'm also only going to be reg'ing the .25/45s which means that my full table load will take a bit longer to get going than if I were loading the 360s as well.  Unfortunately I just don't have the results in the 360s to warrant playing them right now.  I can't wait until I have grown my BR to the point of reg'ing the $1.10/45s! I'm greatly looking forward to the turbo structure once I can move up and hoping that it helps out quite a bit with my volume!
Overall Challenge

Best of luck to everyone at the tables!  BR is currently around $25.50 or so (will update with a precise number after next session).

3rd Session

Just a very brief update.  Played something like 32 games tonight.  Realized that I don't like the .25/90s at all; waaayyyy too slow late game which makes it hard to play with a pushbot strate >:D.  Played 2, min cashed both (basically bubble burst and I started shoving to end the torture).

Primarily focused on 45s, running pretty hot in them ~83% ROI in the .25s.

That said, BR is up to $26.69.

Will update with graphs tomorrow :)

Initial Results

Initial results have been pretty ok so far.  I played a session last night that was just .10 360s and about 3-4 .02/990 hypers (almost FT'd one of them).  I couldn't really get much going in the 360s and bubbling the FT was about as deep as I got.  I think in total I ran around 33 or so of them and ended the night with my BR around $17.78 or so.

Overall Challenge
This morning I was going to get some work done but decided to put in a quick session primarily focusing on the .25 45 mans.  In all honesty I'd rather get more comfie with the 45 man format as that is where I'll be spending a significant amount of time.

I spent some time regging a bunch of sngs at the beginning to get my session going (.25/45s & 90s, .10/360s, and .02/990s) but eventually focused strictly on the 45s.  In total I played around another 35 tournies or so and had much better results.  I don't know the exact breakdown of wins and such but my ending BR for the session was $22.44 with all money made coming from the 45s.  I definitely think I will be sticking with the 45s for a while, the 360s just feel way too top heavy for my preference; if you're not FT'ing them then you're making a pittance.

As always, encouragement and advice is always welcome.  Thanks for following if you're doing so! :)

Challenge Introduction

Hello everyone.  I'm not going to bother too much with the standard introduction that you would get on any 2P2 challenge thread.  I've been playing poker for a few months, going to dedicate myself to crushing volume and hopefully making some money at the same time.

The challenge is to turn $20 into $2K.  After that I'll likely transition to playing HUNL

Here's a screen shot of my bankroll at the start of this challenge (11/20/10).

My strategy will be to grind the .25/45s, .10/360s, and .02/990s until i have about $60-75 or so at which point I'll start mixing in some $1/18s and 45s.

If I go busto I'll be reloading to $20 and beginning the challenge again.  Comments and advice appreciated!

Let's do this...
